Foreign National offenders removed from the UK

In a joint operation by the UK Border Agency and the Metropolitan Police Service, 175 foreign national offenders have been identified and removed from the UK.
The operation targeted individuals who continued to offend in the UK were in the UK illegally or were wanted for offences committed overseas.
New methods were employed to address the problem, such as placing UK Border Agency officers in custody suites (where suspected criminals are brought into custody), comparing fingerprints at crime scenes against the UK Border Agency’s biometric databases and developing relationships with law enforcement in countries where a large number of offenders are identified.
