START UP VISA
For high potential entrepreneurs with innovative business plans can apply under this category if they obtain an endorsement from one of the designated bodies in their field of business. Start-up category is available for a two-year period and cannot be extended. Applicants who can successfully obtain endorsement from the designated bodies for Innovator Visa can switch to the Innovator route and would be eligible to apply for ILR after completing 5 years stay in the UK, subject to eligibility.

This route aims to attract high potential entrepreneurs with innovative ideas. You will need to obtain endorsement from one of the designated higher education institution or a business organisation. To obtain endorsement you will need to present your idea to your chosen endorsing body following the advice and instructions. Your business idea must be new, innovative and viable.

Once you obtain endorsement you will be able to make an application under the Start Up route. There are a few requirements to meet and evidence:
- English language skills in 4 facets (write, read, speak and listen) at the B2 level of CEFR Framework. The test result must have been obtained from a Secure English Language Test Centre approved by the Home Office. Some academic degrees and diplomas can be accepted towards this requirement and must be carefully assessed before applying.
- Must have held £1,270 for 28 consecutive days

Switch: Innovator Visa if endorsement can be obtained.
